Accutane
Common Uses:
Accutane is a retinoid used to treat severe acne.
Directions:
Follow the directions for using Accutane provided by your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider. It usually comes with a patient information leaflet, so read it carefully. Take with food or milk. Store at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Side Effects:
Side effects that may occur while taking Accutane include temporary worsening of acne; dry and peeling skin; itching; rash; thinning of hair; fatigue; or dry mouth, nose, or eyes. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider. Check with your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider as soon as possible if you experience bone, joint, or muscle pain or stiffness; abdominal pain; yellowing of the skin or eyes; dark urine; rectal bleeding; severe diarrhea; mood or personality changes; skin infections; persistent, severe headaches; vomiting; depression; suicidal thoughts or tendencies; or blood red vision. If you notice any effects, consult your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider.
