Glucophage
Common Uses:
Glucophage is a biguanide used to treat sugar diabetes
(diabetes mellitus) in patients who may or may not also require
insulin.
Directions:
Follow the directions for using Glucophage provided by your Pharmacist,
Physician or Primary Care Provider. Take with food or milk. Store
at room temperature, away from heat and light. Continue even if
you feel well. Do not miss any doses. If you miss a dose of Glucophage,
take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next
dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Do not take 2 doses at once.
Side Effects:
Side effects that may occur while taking Glucophage include metallic
taste in mouth, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, or
indigestion. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your
Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider. Contact your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider immediately if you experience fast,
deep breathing; vomiting; stomach discomfort; weakness; exhaustion;
muscle pain; dizziness or lightheadedness; or irregular or slow
heartbeat If you notice any effects, consult your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider.
