Pravachol
Common Uses:
Pravachol is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor used to lower cholesterol
and triglyceride levels in your blood.
Directions:
Follow the directions for using Pravachol provided by your Pharmacist,
Physician or Primary Care Provider. Pravachol may be taken on an
empty stomach or with food. If you are taking 1 dose a day, take
your dose in the evening or at bedtime as directed by your Pharmacist,
Physician or Primary Care Provider. Store at room temperature, away
from heat and light. If you miss a dose of Pravachol, take it as
soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip
the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do
not take 2 doses at once.
Side Effects:
Side effects that may occur while taking Pravachol include dizziness
or flu-like symptoms. If they continue or are bothersome, check
with your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider. Check with your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider as soon as possible if
you experience muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially
if associated with fever and a general feeling of discomfort; rash;
yellow skin or eyes; unusual bleeding or bruising; changes in vision;
or sore throat. Contact your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider immediately if you experience
the following side effects or symptoms of toxicity: swelling of
hands, face, lips, eyes, throat, or tongue; difficulty swallowing
or breathing; or hoarseness. If you notice any effects, consult
your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider.
