
Proscar
Common Uses:
Proscar is an androgen hormone inhibitor used in men to treat benign
prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which is swelling of the prostate.
Directions:
Follow the directions for using Proscar provided by your Pharmacist,
Physician or Primary Care Provider. Take Proscar at the same time
each day. Proscar may be taken on an empty stomach or with food.
May be crushed if difficult to swallow. Store at room temperature
in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. If you
miss a dose, and you remember the same day, take it as soon as possible.
If you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose
and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses
at once.
Side Effects:
Side effects that may occur while taking Proscar include a change
in sexual function or breast enlargement. If they continue or are
bothersome, check with your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider. Contact your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider immediately
if you experience the following side effects or symptoms of toxicity:
skin rash or swelling of lips. If you notice any effects, consult
your Pharmacist, Physician or Primary Care Provider.
